Timesheets Configure

Payroll

Click on the 'Payroll' tab of the Configuration screen. This will display a list of Dimension Codes from Duet and their mappings to payment codes in Opera 3 Payroll.

The 'Default Payment Code' specifies a code that should be used wherever a specific mapping has not been defined. Therefore, if all timesheet entries are to be imported to the same payment code, then only the Default Payment Code needs to be specified.

To manually edit a mapping, select the required row in the grid and click the ‘Edit Mapping’ button:

The Edit Mapping feature enables you to choose a payment code to map the Duet Dimension code to.

Selecting the 'Exclude from transfer' box will exclude the selected Dimension from Payroll imports.

It is possible to specify mappings and exclusions for each of the 3 available Duet dimensions. A mapping or exclusion flag for Dimension2 takes precedence over Dimension1, and a mapping for exclusion flag for Dimension3 takes precedence over Dimension2. Selecting the Dimension name from the 'Mapping' dropdown will refresh the list to display the selected Dimension values.

Costing

Click on the ‘Costing’ tab of the Configuration screen. This will display a list of Dimension Codes from Duet and their mappings to Job records in Opera 3 Job Costing:

Where a Dimension1 Code matches an Opera 3 Job Costing job record, it will have automatically been mapped.

If a Duet Dimension1 Code is not automatically mapped to an Opera 3 Job record, then the reasons are likely to be a) a matching code does not exist in Job Costing, or b) the job record in Job Costing is marked as ‘Complete’.

To manually edit a mapping, select the required row in the grid and click the ‘Edit Mapping’ button:

The Edit Mapping feature enables you choose an Opera 3 Job and optionally both a ‘Labour’ and ‘Subcontract’ type Cost Code to map the Duet Dimension code to (Note: If mapping user account records to Cost Codes, then Cost Code mappings should not be specified here).

Ticking the 'Exclude from transfer' box will exclude the selected Dimension from Job Costing Imports.

It is possible to specify Job mappings & exclusions for each of the 3 available Duet dimensions. A mapping or exclusion flag for Dimension2 takes precedence over Dimension1, and a mapping or exclusion flag for Dimension3 takes precedence over Dimension2. Selecting the Dimension name from the 'Mapping' dropdown will refresh the list to display the selected Dimension values.

It is also possible to assign individual timesheet entries to a Job/Phase/Cost Code at the import stage.

Users

The 'Users' tab of the Configuration screen enables you to map individual Duet user accounts to specific Cost Codes in Opera 3 Job Costing.

This may be useful if, for example, you use a different cost code for each user.
